Great Strides Keep Sluice Pond Clean and Safe

Please make a donation to the Sluice Pond Restoration Project. In addition to safely treating the weeds, we are planning Water Safety and Neighborhood Crime Watch programs. We have received our tax exempt status and your donations will be acknowledged by letter. We have raised $5,000 from your membership dues and contributions which can be used as private matching funds for grant support . Thank you.

$20,000 was awarded to Lynn by the state legislature for weed treatment at Sluice Pond in 2007 and again in 2008. This funding was lost in 2009 with the state budget cuts. The city of Lynn and Lynn Water and Sewer paid for the weed maintenance treatment in 2009. The turtles and wildlife may not be safe in 2010 and swimmers may face danger of drowning from weed entanglement unless further funding is securred. Funds are needed for long term weed maintenance.
